Read this post for some basic information about king penguins, that will help you to roleplay them, as well as to follow the seasons etc., on the site.

A King Penguin's preference of breeding area is usually a flat coastal plain within easy reach of an ocean or sandy beach. A full breeding cycle lasts for more than a year, with pairs generally breeding twice every three years.
They lay a single egg, which they hold on their feet for the entire incubation period of about 55 days. The egg is guarded by each parent in shifts, while the free parent goes off on a extended foraging trip.
On Ikeyn, as penguins can only have one egg at a time, you must decide between the two members who play the parents, who will play the chick.
Chicks that are newly hatched remain held in their parents feet for the first 30-40 days while the newborns develop. The parents continue to take care of the chick in shifts, usually for 3-14 days at a time.
Once the chick is old enough, it can join a 'creche', a large group of chicks that are watched over by a group of adults while the parents go to fish.
The diet of a King Penguin mainly consists of small fish, krill and squid. They feed at sea, usually 15-18m below the water's surface. Catching their prey with their bills while they swim, they generally eat the food whole.
Chicks tend to fast near the time they begin to shed their juvenile feathers. Adults will also fast for prolonged periods during breeding seasons as they do not leave their nests to feed. Some penguins fast for the entire courtship, nesting, and incubation periods.

King Penguins can dive to depths of around 100-300 metres and remain underwater for around five minutes at a time.
A King Penguin's dive is usually a flat-bottomed shape. They dive straight down and then remain on the bottom for around half of the time of the total dive, fishing, before returning to the surface.
Their swim speeds are averaged at around 6.5-10 metres per second, and they can travel many kilometres away from the colony in order to fish.
On land, King Penguins walk and if there is ice, toboggan on their bellies.
Adult King Penguins face two main wild predators, these are orcas (killer whales) and leopard seals. On land though, they are relatively safe.
Penguin chicks and eggs, however, can be attacked by predatory seabirds such as skuas.
